South Bend Cubs Now Accepting National Anthem Auditions
February 1, 2016 - Midwest League (MWL1)
South Bend Cubs News Release
SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Due to the overwhelming demand to sing the National Anthem at Four Winds Field, the South Bend Cubs have announced a new application process intended to allow more applicants to audition than ever before.
"We were pleasantly surprised to see so many come out to our audition last year," said the Director of Creative Services and Promotions Chris Hagstrom-Jones. "Fans from across the Midwest traveled to South Bend in order to audition and the process lasted over five hours. This year, we wanted to streamline the process and still allow more people to audition."
Fans will be allowed to submit their audition via email or by sending in a DVD. After carefully reviewing each video, a pool of applicants will be invited to a closed audition to perform live for a panel of judges. Final decisions will be made in March and those who are selected will be notified with their performance date.
Audition Requirements:
All auditions must be submitted as a video. Audio files, tapes or CDs will not be accepted. Videos will be accepted as a downloadable file, video link or DVD. All video formats will be accepted. Audition forms must accompany your submission. Performances of the National Anthem are not to exceed two minutes. Groups must include all members in the audition video. Emailed applications should be sent to marketing@southbendcubs.com. Mailed applications should be sent to: South Bend Cubs, National Anthem Tryout, 501 W. South Street, South Bend, IN 46601
Applications and audition videos must be received by February 12th to be considered.
