Sound of Soul Band Rehearsals Every Tuesday

PHILADELPHIA (February 27, 2013) - The 2012 American Conference Champion Philadelphia Soul, presented by Parx Casino, will have band rehearsals for the Sound of Soul Marching Band every Tuesday from 6:30 "" 8:45 p.m. Rehearsals are open to current and new members, and they will be held at the Vare Recreation Center Auditorium, located at 2600 Morris Street, Philadelphia, PA 19145. Pre-registration can be completed by going to http://www.philadelphiasoul.com/sos. There is no fee for this tryout.
Participants must be between the ages of 16-65 and able to perform all major scales or rudiments, and read music. You will be measured for uniforms when you arrive for rehearsal, and bring black marching shoes if you have them; if not, shoes can be ordered for you upon request from Drillmasters at a cost of $30.
The Sound of Soul is a volunteer marching band that will perform at all the Philadelphia Soul home games this 2013 season. They will also be involved in parades and community events. Chevis Anderson, who is a graduate from the Philadelphia school system and graduated from Delaware State with a B.A. in Music, is the Director of the Sound of Soul Marching Band. Shawn Walker, who also graduated from Delaware State with a B.A. in Music, is the Associate Director of the marching band.
