Soul Fall to the Empire at Home: by the Numbers

PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Philadelphia Soul (3-2) recorded their second loss of the 2018 season, and first home loss since 2016, last night and fell to the Albany Empire (3-2) at the Wells Fargo Center by the score of 41-36. The Empire proved to be a much stronger opponent compared to the last Soul-Empire contest and grabbed the lead in the second quarter with no plan to relinquish it. See Box Score below:

Soul QB Dan Raudabaugh totaled 18 completions on 32 attempts for 220 yards and 3 touchdowns. His season totals now stand at 100 completions on 149 attempts for 1,169 yards, 22 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. Although Raudabaugh continues to rank second in the league in yards and touchdowns and he threw 2 more interceptions in last night's game. Rookie QB Greg McGhee also made an appearance and recorded 6 completions on 9 attempts for 48 yards and the first 2 touchdowns of his AFL career.

Similarly to the previous game against the Baltimore Brigade, only 3 Soul players contributed to the scoring last evening. This season's Soul star Wide Receiver Darius Prince put 2 touchdowns on the board with receptions from Raudabaugh for 27 yards and McGhee for 8 yards. Prince continues to lead the league in receiving yards (454) and number of receptions (39), and is second in the league in touchdowns (8) and receiving yards per game (90.8). He was also the receiving leader of the game and totaled 11 receptions for 125 yards. Like Prince, Rookie WR Aaron Wascha also completed 2 touchdowns, 1 from each quarterback. WR Shaun "SK" Kauleinamoku also recorded 1 touchdown and totaled 6 receptions for 64 yards.

As for the defense, DB James Romain was the defensive leader with 8 total tackles and 1 interception, his first of the season. Newly assigned Soul veteran DL Jake Metz also recorded 1 sack, his first of the season.

The Soul came in as 10.5 point favorites, but hopefully you took the under (O/U 99) and the points with Albany.

Coming up in Week 7, the Soul are on the road to face the Baltimore Brigade at the Royal Farms Arena on Friday, May 25th. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
