Philadelphia Soul News Release

PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Philadelphia Soul (3-1) recorded their first loss of the 2018 season last night and fell to the Baltimore Brigade (3-1) at the Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, MD by the score of 31-21. Both teams are now tied for first place in the league. While the score was neck-and-neck at the start of the game, the Brigade took an early lead in the second quarter, which was unrecoverable by the Soul. See Box Score below:

SCORING BY QUARTER 1ST 2ND 3RD 4TH Final

Philadelphia Soul 7 7 0 7 21

Baltimore Brigade 7 14 7 3 31

The Soul's fearless leader, QB Dan Raudabaugh totaled 15 completions on 24 attempts for 185 yards and 2 touchdowns. His season totals now stand at 82 completions on 117 attempts for 949 yards and 19 touchdowns. Although Raudabaugh continues to rank near the top of the league standings, he threw his first two interceptions of the season in last night's game.

Unlike previous weeks this season, only 3 Soul players put points on the board during the game. Soul veteran WR Shaun Kauleinamoku contributed to the scoring with 1 touchdown and totaled 6 receptions for 57 yards. WR Darius Prince, an early season star, totaled 5 receptions for 77 yards and 1 touchdown. Prince continues to lead the league in receptions (28), receiving yards (329) and is tied with WR Darius "Money" Reynolds with the most touchdowns (6). Soul rookie stand-out FB Adrian Ferns, who leads the league in rushes (21) and rushing yards (89), totaled 11 rushes for 34 yards and squeezed in 1 one-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter.

As for the defense, DB Dwayne Hollis lead the team with 7 total tackles, followed by DB Torez Jones with 4. Hollis is second in the league for total tackles with 22.5. DL Robert Hayes, who played for the Brigade in 2017, totaled 2.5 sacks in this game and now leads the league in sacks.

Bettors on the Brigade came away with the win, without any need for the 6.5 points, and the rare, defensive battle resulted in a points total (52) that was less than half of the total set by odds makers (106.5).

Coming up in Week 5, the Soul are on a bye. The Soul are home for Week 6 on Saturday, May 19 to face the Albany Empire. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m.
