Soul rookie QB Greg McGhee made his first AFL career start, filling in for veteran QB Dan Raudabaugh. McGhee totaled 14 completions on 26 attempts for 164 yards, 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. McGhee ran for a 45-yard touchdown in the last minute of the game, although it wasn't enough to get close to a win. McGhee also led the game in rushing with 5 total rushes for 67 yards and 2 rushing touchdowns, setting the Soul's season high for rushing yards in a single game. Speaking of rushing, Soul FB Adrian Ferns hit the 100-yard milestone for total rushing yards this season in last night's game, leads the league in both yards and attempts, and is tied with Baltimore FB Rory Nixon for the league lead in rushing touchdowns with 4. McGhee is second in the league for total rushing yards with 74.
Soul star Wide Receiver Darius Prince led the team in receiving with 8 receptions for 104 yards. He is also still the league leader in receiving yards (558) and number of receptions (47). Along with McGhee and Prince, WR Darius "Money" Reynolds also contributed to the scoring with a 28-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter. Rookie WR Aaron Wascha recorded 2 touchdowns, continuing to be a key play-maker for the Soul. On the defensive side, DB Joe Goosby led the team in tackles with 7 total. If you bet on this game, hopefully you took the points on Baltimore and the under.
Coming Up Next: The Soul remain on the road to face the Washington Valor on Thursday, May 31 at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m.
