
Soul Announces 2012 Regular-Season Roster

PHILADELPHIA (March 11, 2012) - The Philadelphia Soul have announced their final team roster for the 2012 season. The 35-man roster was trimmed down to 24 (21 active and three inactive) after a two week training camp at the NovaCare Complex in South Philadelphia.
The Soul will begin their quest for the ArenaBowl XXV Championship on Friday, March 18 at the New Orleans VooDoo, where kickoff is at 4 p.m. on the Comcast SportsNet.

The Philadelphia Soul have been re-built for a championship run in 2012. Starting with the coaching staff, head coach Doug Plank; assistant head coach/offensive coordinator Clint Dolezel; assistant coach Leroy Thompson; and assistant coach Darrin Kenney, the Soul now have a coaching staff that has over 47 years of AFL experience, 10 ArenaBowl appearances and five ArenaBowl titles to its credit.
"The pieces are in place for us to make a championship run," said Soul head coach Doug Plank. "We have a group of men that we are excited about and will represent the city and the organization with pride. Now, it's about team chemistry and working together for the common goal - an ArenaBowl XXV title."
The Soul roster has four First Team All-Arena players (Tiger Jones, Derrick Ross, Rayshaun Kizer and Michaeux Robinson), three Second Team All-Arena players (Donovan Morgan, Dusty Bear and Devin Clark), one All-Ironman performer (Jeff Hughley) and three former 2010 First Team All-Arena player (Kizer, Morgan and Tanner Varner) for 2012.
