Published on January 14, 2004 under South East Hockey League (SEHL) News Release
As the South East Hockey League begins its second half of the 2003-2004 season, the "S" in the SEHL could stand for streak based on recent history. On the plus side, the first place Huntsville Channel Cats are currently riding a nine game winning streak and the Cape Fear Fire Antz are on a four game win streak. At the other end of the ledger are the Knoxville Ice Bears who are winless in their last five contests and the Winston-Salem T-Birds who have come up short in their last six straight games. Streaks will come to an end this week as Cape Fear & Huntsville play a three game series beginning Thursday night in Huntsville and continuing Friday & Saturday in Fayetteville. Knoxville & Winston-Salem also play three times, Friday & Saturday in Knoxville and Sunday back in Winston-Salem.
Huntsville continues to lead the way in SEHL with a 14 point lead in the standings over second place Winston-Salem. Unbelievably, on December 27th, both Winston-Salem & Huntsville were tied for first place, each with 26 points. Huntsville now totals 42 points while Winston-Salem has 28.
