Sol Name Bennie King as VP/Head Coach for the 2015 season

Hidalgo TX-(September 5,2015)-The Rio Grande Sol of the X- League is proud to announce the hiring of Bennie King as the VP of Operations/Head Coach for the upcoming 2015 season. Bennie brings a wealth of experience to the Sol having won two indoor football championships in his career. In 2008 Bennie was named the American Indoor Football Association's General Manager of the Year after leading the Florence Phantoms to a record of 13-4 and AIFA league championship. In 2007 Bennie was General Manager of the Lakeland Thunderbolts who finished with a record of 14-2 and AIFA league championship. In 2010 Bennie was hired as the General Manager/Head Coach of the San Jose Wolves (AIFA) in the Wolves inaugural season the Wolves finished with a record of 10-4 and advanced to the Western Conference Finals versus the Wyoming Calvary. In a four year time span between 2007-2011 Bennie's teams have accumulated a record of 45-12 and two championships, three division championships and a 27-3 record at home in four years. In 2012 Bennie was inducted into the American Football Hall of Fame as an Executive for his achievements in indoor football.

"I am truly thankful for the opportunity Jennifer Andrews has given me too lead the franchise this season, I look forward to building upon the foundation that Jennifer started last year in the Valley and finishing the goal this upcoming season with a championship" said King. "We will strive to attract the best talent in indoor football that the valley will be proud to call their own", said King

Bennie is a graduate of Tuskegee University where he received a B.S in History/Sociology. Bennie earned a Master of Science in Sports Administration from St. Thomas University in Miami Florida. Bennie's other stops in the sports industry include the Game Operations department of the Charlotte Bobcats in the NBA, the Orange Bowl Committee in 2005, which hosted College Football's National Championship and as a Market Research Assistant for the Miami Dolphins.
