
Slam to take part in Spokane Hoopfest

Bellingham, WA. The ABA Bellingham Slam have announced that they will be taking part in the 2006 Spokane Hoopfest 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament taking place June 24 and 25 on the streets of Spokane, Washington. Slam players Brian Dennis, Michael Parker and Jacob and Jared Stevenson will be taking part in the tournament which tips off Saturday morning at 8 a.m. The Spokane Hoopfest started in 1990 and has quickly become the largest 3-on-3 basketball tournament in the world with over 25,000 players participating on over 6,000 teams. The Spokane Hoopfest is a non-profit event with proceeds benefitting Special Olympics and youth sports programs.
The Slam recently completed their first season in the ABA, falling in the quarterfinals of the Great Eight postseason tournament after winning their first two playoff games. The Slam finished the season with a 20-15 record. The Slam would like to thank AeroMach Incorporated for sponsoring the Slam during this year's Hoopfest.
