Bellingham Slam News Release

LANGLEY, B.C. - The Bellingham Slam rode the hot shooting of Ryan Diggs as they defeated the Vancouver Titans, 105-83, in an International Basketball League division game at the Langley Events Centre on Friday night.

It was the first action for Diggs in a Slam uniform this season, who led all scorers with 25 points on 11-for-15 shooting.

The victory gave Bellingham a four-game season sweep of the Vancouver Titans.

The Slam started off the game cold, trailing 28-19 after the first quarter.

But Bellingham rallied in the second quarter on the hot shooting of Lukas Henne. Henne had nine points in the frame on a variety of jumpers and dunks as the Slam managed to take the lead on several occasions. But Vancouver finished the half strong and led 52-49 at the break.

The Slam flat out dominated the second half, scoring 28 points each quarter while holding the Titans to 19 and 12 points in the third and fourth quarters, respectively. The Titans managed just 32 percent shooting in the second half. The 12 points allowed by the Slam in the fourth quarter is a new team record.

Tyler Amaya was not far behind Diggs in the scoring column for Bellingham, putting up 24 points and 14 rebounds. Henne and Ira Graham finished with 15 points each.

Vancouver was led by Emmy Unaegbu and Kyle Keyes, who scored 18 points apiece. Richard Anderson and James Hudson both finished with 11.

The Bellingham defense held a team under 100 points for the sixth time this season.

The Slam return home on June 5 as they take on the Oregon Waves. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. at Whatcom Pavilion.
