
Slam Extend Win Streak to Six, 106-86, over Lone Star Strikers

BELLINGHAM, Wash. -The Bellingham Slam continued their winning ways with a 106-86 victory against the Lone Star Strikers in an International Basketball League contest at Whatcom Pavilion on Sunday afternoon.
The Slam started off hot, outscoring the Strikers 33-19 in the first quarter. Lone Star kept it competitive in the second quarter by matching Bellingham point for point.
Outscoring the Strikers by eight in the third quarter, the Slam increased their lead to 86-64 and never gave up the lead as they received their sixth straight win.
The game was decided in the first quarter with Bellingham's fast start.
The Strikers could not weather the storm to make it a competitive game at the end.
Defense was a major factor in the Slam's victory, scoring 24 points off of turnovers, compared to the Strikers 13 points.
Guard Jacob Stevenson led Bellingham (7-1) with 23 points, forward Nick Moore added a double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds for his best performance in a Slam uniform.
George Williams led the Strikers (0-3) with 23 points; Greg Foster added 19 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists.
The Slam head to Oregon on Friday for a road matchup against the Salem Sabres. The Slam returns home on Monday, May 27, for a Memorial Day matchup against the Portland Chinooks, in a rematch of the 2012 IBL Championship game.
