Sky Blue FC News Release

Somerset, N.J. (Wednesday, April 27, 2011) - Sky Blue FC of Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) announced today that the team has traded forward Kiersten Dallstream to the Boston Breakers. In exchange for Dallstream, Sky Blue FC has acquired a second round pick from Boston in the 2012 WPS Draft.

"With the depth of attacking players we have, we felt like this was the best thing for both Sky Blue FC and Kiersten at this time," Sky Blue FC head coach Jim Gabarra stated. "It is always hard to trade or release players, but it is part of our business. We all wish Kiersten good luck in Boston."

While she has not logged any minutes thus far during the current WPS season, Dallstream made six starts in 12 games last year while contributing an assist to the stat sheet. In college, she immediately inserted herself into the lineup when she arrived on campus at Washington State, starting in 18 matches over her freshman season. She then registered seven goals and three assists during her sophomore year and was selected to the Soccer Buzz All-West Region Team and All-Pac 10 First Team as a result. She picked up her junior campaign right where she left off in 2007, winning NSCAA/adidas All-Region and All-Pac 10 Second Team accolades after tallying four goals and five assists. During her senior season, Dallstream recorded a team-leading 13 goals and 33 points, and she was also called up for the first time to the U-23 U.S. National Team Training Camp.

Next up for Sky Blue FC is a road pairing with the Breakers (1-2-0, 3 points) this Sunday, kicking off at 6:00 p.m. on Fox Soccer Channel. The match is the second of three consecutive games away from home for Sky Blue FC before returning to Yurcak Field on Saturday, May 21st, to host the Atlanta Beat at 7:00 p.m. Tickets for that contest are available now by calling 888-SBFC-TIX.
