
Sky Blue FC GM & Head Coach Sawyers Indefinitely Suspended

WASHINGTON, D.C. (May 23, 2009) - Sky Blue FC announced today that Ian Sawyers has been indefinitely suspended from his duties as General Manager and Head Coach. Current Assistant Coach Kelly Lindsey will take over as an interim head coach for today's game against the Washington Freedom.
"Differences have arisen between Ian and the ownership of the organization," said Thomas Hofstetter, CEO and President of Sky Blue Soccer - the parent organization of Sky Blue FC. "We are working through this matter as professionally as possible and will have further information available sometime next week."
Sky Blue FC faces the Freedom this afternoon at 4:30 p.m. at RFK Stadium. Follow the game live on MatchTracker at www.skybluefc.com.
