Six-Run Sixth Sparks Panthers in Toronto

TORONTO - Kitchener scored six runs in the sixth inning to break open a tight game en route to a 14-6 win Wednesday night at Christie Pits. Simon Grinberg had a two-run double in the frame and finished with four RBI. He reached base four times on three hits and a walk, and he also scored twice. Blake Jacklin went 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs, Andy Leader drilled a two-run home run in the third inning, Stephen Whalen went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs, Keegan Marsden picked up a pair of hits and Stephen Nahrabeki scored three times. Jacob Douglas (2-0) went five innings for the win. He allowed eight runs on four hits and fanned four without issuing a walk. For Toronto, Justin Marra drilled a two-run blast and Jordan Castaldo added a solo home run. Jose Vinicio had two hits and a run, Luca Boscarino went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run, Aidan McAskie had a pair of hits and Damon Topolie's sacrifice fly opened the scoring in the second inning. Diego Dominguez (0-1) started and lasted three innings, allowing three runs on two hits with three walks and no strikeouts. Kitchener improved to 5-5 and Toronto fell to 7-6.
