Series Notes:
-The Americans won the regular season series versus the Thunder going winning five of the nine match-ups.
-Anthony Maiani led the way for Allen with three goals and eight assists (11 points) while Chad Painchaud had six goals and five helpers (11 points) for Wichita in the head-to-head meetings.
-Allen's win over Missouri in Game 7 of the Conference Semifinals moved their all-time record in Game 7's to 3-0.
-The Americans scored 22 goals in their four wins in the series against Missouri and are averaging a league-best 3.75 goals per game so far in the playoffs.
-Wichita has swept their way to two series wins and are the only CHL team to do so in back-to-back best-of-7 series (OKC swept a best-of-5 and then a best-of-7 in 1999). The Thunder's eight-game win streak is tied with the 1999 Blazers for the longest in CHL post-season history.
-Because of their back-to-back sweeps, the Thunder will have had 17 total days off between series when you factor in the seven day break between the end of the Opening Round sweep over Arizona and the start of their Conference Semifinals series versus Fort Worth and then the 10 day gap between their sweep of the Brahmas and the start of the Presidents' Cup Finals.
-The trip to the Finals for the Thunder marks the fifth time they have made it to the CHL Finals in the 21 year history of the league tying the Colorado Eagles for the most visits by one franchise. Wichita won the title in 1994 and 1995 and lost in 1998 and 2012. The Eagles went 2-3 in their five visits and one of their Finals losses came with current Wichita Head Coach Kevin McClelland behind the bench 2009). This marks McClelland's third trip to the Finals in the last five years.

The Colorado Eagles scored four times in the third period to defeat the Mississippi RiverKings 5-2 in Game 6 of their Conference Finals series winning the series four games to one and advancing to the CHL Finals to take on the Texas Brahmas. Colorado jumped out to a 3-0 series lead versus the RiverKings before Mississippi had back-to-back six goal outbursts to send the series back to Colorado for a Game 6. Current Wichita forward Matt Summers was a member of that RiverKings squad.
