Shorebirds Release Game Times for 2012 Season

Salisbury, Md. - The Delmarva Shorebirds, class "A" affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, are excited to release game times for the 2012 season, the 17th in the history of the franchise. Similar to year's past, the majority of Monday through Saturday games will be played at 7:05 p.m.

Sunday games will again be played at 2:05 p.m. during the first half of the season (April 15-June 17) and 5:05 p.m. during the second half of the season (July 1-August 30).

The Shorebirds will play seven games at special game times in 2012. They are all detailed below.

. Wednesday, April 25 @ 10:35 a.m. (Field of Dreams Day)

. Wednesday, May 16 @ 10:35 a.m. (Field of Dreams Day)

. Sunday, May 27 @ 7:05 p.m. (Day Before Memorial Day)

. Monday, May 28 @ 5:05 p.m. (Memorial Day)

. Wednesday, June 27 @ 10:35 a.m. (Summer Camp Day)

. Tuesday, July 3 @ 6:35 p.m. (Independence Day Celebration)

. Saturday, July 14 @ 6:35 p.m. (Faith & Family Night)

"Game times will remain relatively unchanged in 2012, which is a good thing for our fans that have been coming since day one," said Shorebirds general manager Chris Bitters. "We anticipate that our seven special game times will excite our fan base."

Field of Dreams games (April 25 & May 16) are catered to area schools. Children get the opportunity to take in a Shorebirds game while also benefiting from an education packet that combines baseball and education. The Shorebirds will hold their annual Independence Day celebration on July 3 at 6:35 p.m. against the West Virginia Power. One of the biggest fireworks shows of the season will follow the final out.

On July 14, the Shorebirds will host "Faith and Family Night" presented by Mountaire with first pitch slated for 6:35 p.m. A postgame concert will precede the fireworks show.

The Shorebirds open the 2012 season on the road against the Asheville Tourists on April 5. The home opener at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium is scheduled for April 12 against the Greensboro Grasshoppers.
