Jacksonville Sharks News Release
JACKSONVILLE, Fla - The Jacksonville Sharks are pleased to announce the addition of Chum to the front office. Chum will join the staff as the Mascot and Director of Excitement effective immediately. Chum, who will lead the Sharks in gameday activities, will bring an added dimension to the already extravagant gameday experience for Shark fans. The terms of the contract remain undisclosed per team policy.
"I'm positive Chum will help foster a family aspect with the Sharks," stated Steve Curran. The Sharks Partner and Vice President of Ticketing first met Chum when the Sharks hosted the New Orleans Voodoo on March 26, 2011. "I know all the other local sports teams have a mascot and I know that Chum will be among the best in bringing fun and family-oriented gameday festivities to our games."
TJ Streit, television voice of the Sharks, knows that Chum will be a great addition for the team. TJ interviewed Chum during a Sharks home game and sensed nothing but excitement for the team. " When I first saw Chum, I saw him run on the field and tackle a Georgia Force fan and I knew that was a fan full of excitement and energy. When I finally got to meet Chum the following game I knew his excitement for Sharks and football was unparalleled. I think he will be a really great Director of Excitement for the team."
Sharks Managing Partner Jeff Bouchy could not be any more excited. "I think Chum will be an excellent addition to our franchise. I think he will help take our game day experience to an elite level in the AFL." Chum will see his first official action Saturday, April 23, 2011 as the Sharks square-off against the Cleveland Gladiators. Doors will open to the general public at 6:00pm EDT with kickoff at 7:05pm EDT.
