Setx Mavericks Mavericks Defeat Impact 147-107

December 5, 2010 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release

The Southeast Texas Mavericks (6-0) defeated the Dallas Impact on Saturday night at their NJEC Arena in Winnie, TX.

The Mavericks again controlled the first quarter to take complete control of the game. Josh Pace scored early and often to set the tone for Mavericks who came out in attack mode and with stifling defense. DeSean White proved to be a load inside for the Mavericks. Alex Sanders and Odell Bradley came off the Mavs bench to lead the Mavericks to a 43-17 advantage after the first period of play.

In the second quarter Myles Thrash, Currye Todd, and Desmond Cambridge set a fast pace to keep the Mavericks in control and SETX went in up 74-40 at halftime.

In the third period the Mavericks bench, which has been dominating all season long extended the lead! Alex Sanders led the Mavericks with his powerful play in the paint. Sanders, Bradley, and White were just too much for the Impact to handle in the paint.

With the game in hand and out of reach the Impact kept fighting and pressured the Mavericks late. But even with that fight and effort the Mavericks could not be contained as both teams scored big numbers in the last period of play. The result was a 147-107 final score!

The SETX Mavericks again placed six players in double figure scoring! Bradley led the Mavs with 26 points. Pace and Sanders both scored 20 (Sanders went 10 for 10 from the floor). White had a double/double with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Mavericks' point guards Myles Thrash and Kenny Dawkins each scored 18 point apiece respectively. The Impact was led in scoring with Chase Adams game high 28 points. Habeeb Kareen scored 16 points and Al Thompson followed up with 15 points.

The Mavericks will be back in action next Saturday night at home vs the Oklahoma Stallions. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
