Happy Flight

Salt Lake secured its first series win at El Paso since April 25-29, 2018 (a 5-game set). The Bees were winless in their last six sets at ELP (two splits, four losses), and last week marked just the fifth series ever won at Southwest University Park (2014, 2017, 2018 - twice). It is Salt Lake's first six-game road series win versus the Chihuahuas in franchise history. Sunday also marked the Bees' eighth win over El Paso this season, a new single-season record since the two teams began playing each other in 2014. Last week's series victory marks the first since taking a three-game weekend set at home over the Reno Aces (2-1). It is the first six-game series win since defeating Reno in four of six games on the road in Nevada on June 9-14. The series victory snapped a streak of seven consecutive winless six-game sets (two splits, five losses).

State of the Bees

The Bees have won three straight games, notching their longest winning streak since a four gamer between June 12-16, when they took the final three at Reno and the series opener against Tacoma at home. Sunday was the 15th win of the second half for Salt Lake, holding a 15-30 record with 30 games left in the campaign.

Walk About It

Salt Lake tied Las Vegas for the Triple-A lead last week with 33 walks, including three bases loaded walks, two of which gave Salt Lake the lead in the ninth inning to Christian Moore on Tuesday and Raudi Rodriguez on Saturday. Salt Lake leads the Pacific Coast League in walks this season with 609, the most through 119 games in franchise history.

Comeback Kids

Salt Lake recorded three comeback wins in its five-game series against El Paso, beginning with Tuesday's 4-3 victory. The Bees scored twice in the ninth inning to take the lead, highlighted by Cade Marlowe's game-tying sacrifice fly and a go-ahead bases-loaded walk by Christian Moore. On Saturday, Salt Lake rallied from a four-run deficit and entered the ninth inning trailing by three before scoring four times to take the lead. Four walks, including two with the bases loaded, helped fuel the rally, while Gustavo Campero delivered a two-run single to get the comeback started. The Bees completed the series comeback on Sunday, overcoming a 5-2 deficit after the first inning and a 7-4 deficit after five. Salt Lake erupted for six runs in the sixth and scored nine total runs across the sixth and seventh innings to cruise to a 13-7 victory and claim the series. Salt Lake also nearly completed another comeback Thursday, falling behind 7-0 before rallying to tie the game at 8-8. El Paso, however, scored three runs in the seventh to secure an 11-8 victory. With the three comeback wins in the series, Salt Lake has now recorded 38 comeback victories this season, the most in Triple-A and tied for the second-most in all of Minor League Baseball.
