
Senators Sign Forward Mark Parrish to a One-Year Contract

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - July 8, 2011) - The Ottawa Senators announced today the club has signed forward Mark Parrish to a one-year, two-way contract.
Parrish, 34, spent last season with the Buffalo Sabres organization, playing 56 games with the American Hockey League's Portland Pirates and two National Hockey League matches. With the Pirates, Parrish scored 17 goals and 34 assists while adding 12 penalty minutes. He went scoreless in two games with the Sabres.
The 5-11, 199-pound native of Bloomington, Minn., has appeared in 722 career NHL games with the Florida Panthers, New York Islanders, Los Angeles Kings, Dallas Stars, Tampa Bay Lightning and Buffalo. He has scored 216 goals and added 171 assists for 387 career points while adding 246 penalty minutes.
Parrish has scored 20 or more goals in the NHL on six different occasions and played for Team North America in the 2002 NHL All-Star Game held in Los Angeles.
Parrish was originally drafted by the Colorado Avalanche in the third round (79th overall) in 1996 NHL Entry Draft.
