Second Annual Public Safety Memorial Bowl December 10 at Skyway Park

Tampa Bay Storm News Release


Tampa Bay - The Tampa Bay Storm will play the Tampa Bay Sentinels, a member of the National Public Safety Football League, in a charity flag football game Saturday, December 10 at Skyway Park (3901 George Road, Tampa) at 1:00 PM. All ticket and raffle proceeds from the game will benefit the Fallen Firefighter Survivors Foundation.

The Sentinels are comprised of active members of police, fire and sheriff units from 16 departments serving five counties throughout the Tampa Bay area, as well as members of the US Army, Navy and Air Force. The team will miss two players who are currently on active duty in Afghanistan, Army Sergeants Delano Howson and William Crain.

Many guests will be in attendance including: NFL Alumni players signing autographs, former Hillsborough County Commissioner Brian Blair, the Tampa Fire Department honor guard, the Storm Cheerleaders and South Florida Sun Dolls, mascots - Storm Dawg and Rocky the Bull and 620 WDAE the Sports Animal's on-air personality Darek Sharp as he calls the game.

Several emergency vehicles will be on display, including a Bayflight helicopter and units from the Tampa Fire Department. Fireman Chip Shields from the Hillsborough Fire Department will sing the national anthem prior to the game and Select Physical Therapy will provide athletic trainers for each team during the game.

There will also be raffle items with all the proceeds going to benefit the Fallen Firefighter Survivors Foundation.

Highlights of the raffle items include:

- A pair of ticket to the Outback Bowl on January 2

- A pair of tickets to see the Lightning take on the Pittsburgh Penguins on January 15

- Gift baskets compliments of Auxiliary to the Clearwater Fire Department
