It's time! On Saturday April 18th, the Harrisburg City Islanders will officially kick off their 2009 season when they travel to Richmond to take on the Kickers at the University of Richmond's stadium at 7:00pm.
With only eight players returning from the 2008 roster, the Islanders are excited to see how the new look of the team translates onto the playing field. "This is a very different team, with a fresh perspective, and that's what we need," said Head Coach Bill Becher. "We have a lot of confidence in these veterans and we're very excited about what the newcomers bring."
The Islanders wrapped up their preseason schedule with a 2-0 victory over Towson University. After posting a solid 4-1 preseason record, the team is ready to get the season underway.
