Sky Blue FC News Release

Somerset, N.J. (Wednesday, May 19, 2010) - In partnership with Somerset Medical Center, which is the official health care provider of the team, Sky Blue FC will host a series of pre-game health clinics to occur prior to every home match this season. Next up on the schedule is a clinic entitled Sleep for Life: How Sleep Affects your Sports Performance, which will take place before the team hosts the Boston Breakers on Saturday, May 29th, at Yurcak Field on the campus of Rutgers University in Piscataway.

"Delivering the message of sports health is an essential part of our mission," Sky Blue FC General Manager Gerry Marrone stated. "As a Women's Professional Soccer team, we pride ourselves on the strength of our community involvement, and on bringing a variety of services to our fans. Among those fans are the youth players and their families and coaches who directly benefit from the cutting-edge information offered in these clinics."

The upcoming sleep workshop will be led by Dave Orloff, a respiratory therapist and associate director of Somerset Medical Center's Sleep for Life program. Orloff will provide an overview of sleep disorders, including symptoms, diagnosis and treatment. Through an interactive demonstration using impaired vision goggles, attendees will see first-hand how fatigue affects an athlete's performance. Participants can also complete a questionnaire to assess their risk for sleep disorders.

"Getting a good night's sleep should be part of everyone's game day preparation," said Orloff. "Sleep is just as important as nutrition and exercise in helping you perform your best on the field."

Registration for the clinic is free of charge to any fan that purchases tickets for the May 29th match, which will kick off at 7:00 p.m. To sign up for the clinic today, call 1-888-SBFC-TIX.

Once the sleep workshop has concluded, participants will be treated to a night of world class soccer when Sky Blue FC takes on the Breakers. With four players on the Sky Blue FC roster originating from the Garden State (Yael Averbuch, Carli Lloyd, Heather O'Reilly and Christie Rampone), the team will be celebrating its home grown "Jersey Girls" throughout the night. In coordination with that theme, Sky Blue FC is currently offering a limited "Jersey Girls" package in which fans will get an exclusive t-shirt and post-game photo taken with the Sky Blue FC Jersey Girls. The cost of the package is only an additional $10 to any ticket, and those fans who have already purchased tickets can still upgrade to the Jersey Girls package for the same cost.

To purchase tickets for the May 29th match, call 1-888-SBFC-TIX today or visit www.SkyBlueFC.com.
