San Diego Seals News Release
The San Diego Seals announced today that the team has acquired right-handed forward Brett Hickey from the Philadelphia Wings in exchange for a second-round pick in the 2024 NLL Entry Draft.
"Brett's a big, veteran righty," said General Manager and Head Coach Patrick Merrill. "He's a proven goal-scorer that provides us with some offensive depth down the stretch, especially on the power-play. We felt it was important to keep our team intact, but at the same time add a piece that will make us a stronger group for a playoff push. We're excited to welcome Brett to the Seals family."
Hickey, 31, has appeared in 12 games for the Wings this season recording 36 points and 15 goals, adding 42 loose balls. Hickey was selected first overall in the 2018 NLL Expansion draft from the Toronto Rock. The 6-2, 225-pound righty played four seasons in Toronto after spending his first two seasons in the Vancouver organization.
"I'm very excited to join the Seals," said Hickey, "Since their first year, I've enjoyed watching the exciting brand of lacrosse they play. They're a talented group, with great leaders, in a position to make a championship push and I'm beyond excited to come in and help in any way I can!"
The Seals will welcome the Colorado Mammoth to Pechanga Arena San Diego this Saturday, March 19 for Down Syndrome Awareness Night. Reserve your seats today at SealsLax.com.
