SD Loyal SC to Host Open Tryout January 21 Ahead of 2022 Season

San Diego, Calif. - San Diego Loyal SC (SD Loyal) announced today that the club is hosting an open tryout later this month in an effort to expand their recruiting pool and discover players for its third USL Championship season. The tryout will be held Friday, January 21st from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Valley Field on the University of San Diego campus (5998 Alcala Park, San Diego, CA 92110).

Soccer players from all over the world have a life-changing opportunity to impress Coach Landon Donovan and his staff for a chance to earn a professional contract and a spot on the first team roster. To register, players must be ages 15 to 35.

A handful of trialists made it into preseason camp in 2021 and saw action on the pitch during preseason matches. SD Loyal takes pride in giving local and regional talent a chance at being part of the team. SD Loyal debuted young players during its 2021 campaign, including talent such as C.J. Fodrey, Ian Mai and Xavi Gnaulati.
