Schaumburg Flyers Logo Gets Facelift For New Season

Schaumburg Flyers News Release

Every show needs a good costume change. In 2009, eleven years since the ball club released their first logo, the Schaumburg Flyers unveils a new black logo and jerseys for the upcoming season at Alexian Field. The new logo and jerseys will be worn by Mike Busch's Flyers every Friday night in 2009.

"Players play better if they look and feel good. I love the black look, and I'm excited for the new image this season," says Field Manager, Mike Busch. "You never know, if we get hot and win a couple Friday's in a row, we might pull these out a little more often. I'm a superstitious guy and I'm all for whatever helps us win ballgames."

In celebration of this new look, fans can take advantage of the "Paint It Black" ticket package for Opening Week. The package includes a ticket for opening week, new logo t-shirt or sweatshirt and new logo cap for $39.00, a savings of up to $19.00.

The new logo concept is just one of many changes gracing Alexian Field this season. From the hot tub and tiki bar, to the improved kid zone and remodeled Schaumburg Club, the Flyers are giving more entertainment value to the Chicagoland consumer's buck with every trip to the ballpark.

"With all the new changes we were making at the ballpark we thought it was vital to update our look as well. This is a perfect time to introduce this new concept," said Flyers General Manager Ben Burke.

The new logo was designed by Matt Palamateer at Palmateer Design. Matt is a native of Athens, NY and graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in Rochester, NY. The Flyers chose Matt's design from a field of over 40 artists who submitted new logo ideas to the club.

The Flyers will sport this new logo with a fresh uniform design as well. The new black design will be work on the field on Friday home games and for special occasions. The Flyers will stick with gold top, white pants and blue cap for all other home games. The blue sleeveless jersey with blue cap will be the uniform of choice for all Northern League road games. The Flyers eliminated the blue cap with the orange bill from the uniform rotation in 2009.
