Detroit Fury News Release

AUBURN HILLS, MICH. - The first 2,500 fans to arrive at the Palace of Auburn Hills Saturday night for the Detroit Fury's Arena Football League match-up with the Tampa Bay Storm will be the lucky recipients of a Robert "Flash" Gordon collectible bobblehead. Over the past couple of years, these red-hot commodities have nodded their way into sports history, drawing record crowds and becoming one of the most sought after memorabilia items in recent memory.

"The lure of the bobblehead has been kind of magical for sports," said Fury General Manager Greg Myford. "I think it may stem from mom or dad's memory of receiving one as a kid and recalling what a great time they had at that game. Mom and dad now want to re-create those feelings, whether for themselves, or now for their kids. And that's exactly what the Fury wants to do - give our fans a great time, a great game and some great memories."

Robert Gordon (#84), the Fury's offensive specialist who finished third in the AFL in touchdown's last season with 42, will be on hand in Tailgate Alley prior to the game to talk with Fury fans. After the game, fans will have the chance to get their "Flash" bobblehead autographed by Gordon on the Fury field.

The Fury will play its final regular season game at home against intra-state rival Grand Rapids on Friday, July 19 at 7:30. The first 2,500 fans at that game will receive a Fury mini-football, courtesy of Coca-Cola.
