Saskatoon Accelerators One Win From Becoming CMISL Champions
February 26, 2010 - Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL)
Saskatoon Accelerators News Release
This past weekend Saskatoon visited Calgary United at the Subway Soccer Centre in a must win situation. The Accelerators pressed hard from start to finish, they had a 4-0 lead before Calgary managed to put any numbers on the scoreboard. The late charging effort of Calgary made for an exciting finish and the Accelerators answered pressure with pressure and the contest ended 6-4 in favor of the Saskatoon side.
The league title is awarded to the team with most accumulated points throughout the season, in the event of a tie, head to head match ups will be the determining factors. The team with the most wins head to head, is the first consideration and if that is even it would then be determined by goals for.
As it stands a Saskatoon Accelerator victory clinches the title. In order for Calgary to win they must win against Saskatoon with more goals than Saskatoon and win their remaining two games against Winnipeg. Saskatoon is undefeated at home this season with a 5-0 record. The CMISL champion will then go to San Diego to compete in the North American Championships being held from March 11-13, 2010
The game this weekend will be at The Henk Ruys Centre. The gates open at 11 am with a 12 noon kick off. All tickets and T-shirts are 50% off. Come cheer on your hometown side.
