
San Jose's Maka Voted Week 16 AFL MVP

CHICAGO - San Jose SaberCats Mac linebacker Francis Maka has been voted AFL MVP for Week 16 of the 2014 NET10 Wireless Arena Football League season.
Maka (6-2, 255, Hawaii) tallied one sack, one quarterback hurry and returned a fumble eight yards for a touchdown in San Jose's 62-33 victory over the Arizona Rattlers in Week 16. Maka has recovered a fumble in each of the last two games and ranks second on the team with 8.5 sacks on the year.
Fans had 24 hours to vote for the AFL MVP award on ArenaFootball.com. Maka took home 66 percent of the fan vote, beating out fellow candidates James Romain of the Philadelphia Soul and Al Phillips of the Pittsburgh Power.
