San Jose Stealth Signs two

he San Jose Stealth professional indoor lacrosse team has added two free agents to the roster by signing Kyle Hartzell and Joe Kostolansky, it was announced today.

Both Hartzell, a defenseman, and Kostolansky, a transition player, will make the transition to the National Lacrosse League after playing for the San Francisco Dragons of the outdoor Major League Lacrosse. This will be their first experience playing indoor.

"Kyle and Joe are both guys we feel can make the transition to the NLL in a relatively short time," San Jose Stealth Assistant General Manager Doug Locker said. "Kyle is a very good athlete and has all the skills necessary to contribute for us this season. Joe brings size, toughness and a hard nosed presence to our team. We are very excited to have them as members of the San Jose Stealth."

As a midfielder Hartzell appeared in 10 games for the Dragons and recorded two goals, two assists while collecting 31 groundballs. Hartzell was an All-American defenseman at Salisbury University and helped lead the Sea Gulls to the 2007 national championship.

Kostolansky, a three-year veteran in the MLL, played four games for San Francisco in 2008 after starting the season in Boston. He compiled five goals, one assist and 20 looseballs in 11 games. The Corning, NY native entered the MLL in Rochester in 2006 after enjoying a standout collegiate career at Hofstra.
