SAN JOSE - The San Jose Stealth defeated the Anaheim Storm 16-9 on Saturday, Nov. 15 at HP Pavilion. The action took place during a free exhibition game that started at 10:30 pm following the National Hockey League contest between the Sharks and Maple Leafs 2-2 tie.

An estimated crowd of more than 11,000 fans took in the newest professional sport added to the Bay Area on Saturday night at a free exhibition game hosted by the San Jose Stealth. The four quarters of intense play provided plenty of hard hits and relentless action.

The San Jose Stealth were in complete command after Jim Moss scored seven seconds into the first quarter and never looked back. The Stealth scored nine unanswered goals, seven of which came in the first quarter. Dan Teat scored the second of the nine goals, 50 seconds after Jim Moss' goal.

The Storm then answered back with a goal flurry of their own when they scored three goals in the middle of the second quarter, which kept the game still close.

The second and third quarters didn't bring much as far as goals, but the intensity never left the field. Eleven penalties were assessed between the two teams in the second and third quarters several of them coming after fights broke out on the field.

"I am very proud of the effort by the players of the Stealth and the staff of Silicon Valley Sports and Entertainment put forward to make the exhibition game a success," said Head Coach and General Manager Johnny Mouradian.

The Stealth had a total of ten different goal scorers, including, Scott Ranger and Dan Teat's three goals each. Ross Johnston, former high school lacrosse All American at San Francisco's University High School, and Dartmouth collegiate player, pitched in and tallied a goal with about three minutes remaining in the game.

Anaheim had six different goal scorers, including Casey Powell and Bobby Horsey who registered multiple goals (2).
