San Diego Spirit News Release
SAN DIEGO - Lights, Camera, Action. The San Diego Spirit and Channel 4 San Diego debuts the new "In the Spirit with Julie Foudy" show this month. The half-hour program gives fans and viewers an inside look at their favorite WUSA team with highlights, interviews, player profiles and the highly-entertaining "Foudy-Cam" features.
The energetic and personable Julie Foudy hosts the show produced by Channel 4 San Diego. "For the little television experience that Julie has, it is surprising how natural and professional she is in front of a camera, " said show's producer Jason Bott. "But, I really should not be surprised because she is a great competitor both on and off the field and she wants to be the best at whatever she does."
Following the lead of the Carolina Courage, the Spirit becomes the second WUSA team to have a half-hour television show. The first installment of "In the Spirit" airs at various times throughout the month on May on Channel 4 San Diego. A new show will be produced each month during the season.
