San Diego Legion Named Major League Rugby Team of the Week

SALT LAKE CITY - The San Diego Legion were named the Major League Rugby Team of the Week the League announced today. In the final week of the regular season, the Legion knocked off the previously undefeated Glendale Raptors, 23-5. With the victory, San Diego finished the season with a perfect 4-0 mark in front of their home crowd.
San Diego looked sharp from the opening kick, converting their opportunities and capitalizing on any Glendale mistake. Controlling the territory battle and showcasing the more physical brand of rugby propelled the Legion into unchartered waters - a victory over the No. 1 seed Raptors.
Utah Warriors' Tonata Lauti was tabbed Player of the Week. Tonata's two-try performance made him the leading try-scorer in the inaugural season of Major League Rugby. His effort and proven-speed lifted the Warriors to a 31-27 win over Houston and helped Utah secure the No. 4 seed and a spot in the MLR Championship Series.
