Sky Blue FC News Release

Somerset, N.J. (January 4, 2010) - 2009 Women's Professional Soccer Champions Sky Blue FC announced today that the team has reached an agreement that will return the Saker division of the ShopRite grocery store chain as a sponsor in 2010. As part of the sponsorship, Sky Blue FC and Saker ShopRite will conduct a $10,000 Grocery Challenge during home games this season at Yurcak Field.

"We are very excited to partner once again with Saker ShopRite," Sky Blue FC General Manager Gerry Marrone said of the sponsorship. "It is a natural fit for both of us. In fact, it went so well last year that ShopRite has doubled its commitment for 2010. Look for the $10,000 ShopRite Grocery Challenge, where a fan per game can take a shot on goal to win $10,000 in groceries!"

Saker ShopRite is headquartered in Freehold, New Jersey, and operates approximately 26 stores throughout the state, including the ShopRite Superstores located in Central New Jersey. As a collective whole, ShopRite is based out of Elizabeth, New Jersey, and it is the largest retailers' cooperative chain of grocery stores in the Northeastern region of the United States.

The $10,000 ShopRite Grocery Challenge will make its debut at the 2010 Sky Blue FC season opener, when the team hosts the Chicago Red Stars on Sunday, April 11th, at Yurcak Field on the campus of Rutgers University. One randomly selected fan will be brought onto the field at halftime and given the opportunity to win $10,000 in groceries by putting a shot into a specified section of the goal.

Additional corporate partnerships of Sky Blue FC will be announced in the upcoming months as the team approaches its 2010 season, and those interested in more information about sponsorship opportunities can contact Mike Milich, Sky Blue FC Senior Director of Sales, at 732-271-7700 ext. 302.
