Saint Martin's Forward Jeremy Green Joins Slam

BELLINGHAM, Wash.-The Bellingham Slam have added skill and athleticism at the forward position with the addition of former Saint Martin's standout Jeremy Green, the team announced today.
Green won't have far to travel to suit up with his new team for the first time, as the Slam open the International Basketball League regular season on Friday with a road game against the Olympia Reign, taking place just a few miles down the road from the Saint Martin's campus where he is still enrolled.
Green was the Saints' leading scorer and rebounder during the 2011-12 season, with averages of 18.3 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. After finishing his last two collegiate games by scoring a combined 66 points, he was named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference's Player of the Week and was later selected second team all-conference.
The addition of Green continues a recent trend that has seen the Saints' top players compete for the Slam following the conclusion of their senior seasons. Former SMU players Brandon Hartley and Jake Linton have played for Bellinghamin previous seasons, and former Saints star Blake Poole has returned to the Slam lineup for a second year.
Green will be in uniform for the Slam as they tip-off the IBL season against the Olympia Reign on Friday in Olympia. A 7 p.m.start time is scheduled at the Little Creek Casino Events Center.
The Slam return to Bellinghamon Saturday for their home opener as they welcome the Salem Soldiers to town. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.at Whatcom Pavilion with the game being broadcast live on KPUG 1170 AM.
