Sacramento Republic FC Announces Additional Preseason Friendlies

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (January 14, 2015) - Sacramento Republic FC will start their 2015 training camp on Monday, February 2, at Cosumnes River College. In addition, Republic FC will face the Fresno Fuego FC (USL PDL) at Chukchansi Park in Fresno, Calif. on Saturday, February 7, and will take on Ventura County Fusion (PDL) at Ventura College Sportsplex in Ventura, Calif. on Monday, February 9.

"Both of these organizations are exceptionally run and provide great talent for us to play as we prepare for the 2015 season," said Republic FC Technical Director Graham Smith. "We look forward to visiting these clubs, their cities and their fans during our preseason schedule."

Tickets for the Republic FC versus Fuego match, dubbed the Highway 99 Derby, start at $6 and go on sale Wednesday, January 14, at FresnoFuego.com. Ticket information for the match versus Ventura County Fusion is available at VCFusion.com.

Republic FC faced both the Fuego and Fusion in the 2014 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. Republic FC defeated the Fusion 2-1 in the second round of the tournament and defeated Fuego 6-0 in the third round. Republic FC also defeated the Fusion 4-3 in a preseason friendly last season.

The preseason friendlies versus the Fuego and Fusion are two of three preseason friendlies announced to date for the 2015 Republic FC preseason. Republic FC will host the San Jose Earthquakes on February 21 at Bonney Field.
