SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose SaberCats (13-5) open the 2013 postseason on the road against the National Conference's top seed, West Division champion Arizona Rattlers (15-3) on Sunday, Aug. 4 at 5:00 p.m. PT at the US Airways Center in Phoenix. San Jose leads the all-time series, 22-18, including a four-two postseason advantage. The two teams split their 2013 season series, with the Rattlers coming out on top in Week 3, 73-47 in Phoenix, while the SaberCats dominated the most recent matchup in Week 14, with a 72-42 victory in the Bay Area.
San Jose enters the playoffs having won five of their last six contests and look to redeem themselves after falling in the first round last year to Arizona (51-48 on the road). The game will be broadcast live on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area and KNBR 1050. The winner will face the Spokane Shock in the National Conference Championship Game next weekend, after Spokane defeated the Chicago Rush 69-47 on Thursday night. Should San Jose advance, they would travel to the Pacific Northwest to battle for the right to represent the National Conference in ArenaBowl XXVI in Orlando.
