
SaberCats Face Rival Arizona For Home-Field Advantage Through Playoffs

NEW YORK â For the second consecutive season, the San Jose SaberCats (11-4) will play for the No. 1 seed in the final week of the regular season when they host rival Arizona Rattlers (10-5) this Sunday at 4 p.m. ET on HP Pavilion. The SaberCats defeated the Los Angeles Avengers in the regular season finale to secure the top spot in 2003. With a victory, the SaberCats would join the Detroit Drive and Tampa Bay Storm for the most No. 1-seed seasons (four) in AFL history.
A victory by Arizona, coupled with a Chicago Rush (11-4) loss to the Colorado Crush (10-5) at Pepsi Center on Sunday at 4 p.m. ET on NBC would give the Rattlers their second top seed (1997) in franchise history.
