San Jose SaberCats News Release
SAN JOSE, Calif. - The SaberCats announced today that they have been assigned offensive lineman Jasper Harvey. The former San Diego State Aztec replaces offensive lineman Isaac Leatiota, who has been placed on injured reserve.
"Jasper is another guy that adds depth to our offensive line," said Owner/Head Coach Darren Arbet. "He brings both National Football League and Arena Football League experience into the locker room and on to the field."
Harvey (6-3, 315, San Diego State) joins the SaberCats after serving as their offensive line coach during the 2011 season, his first year coaching in the AFL.
After spending three seasons at guard and center for San Diego State, Harvey moved on to serve stints with the Washington Redskins (2006), Philadelphia Eagles (2006-07), Orlando Predators (2008) of the AFL, Arizona Cardinals (2008) and Hartford Colonials (2009) of the United Football League.
A native of New Orleans, La., Harvey played at Archbishop Shaw (La.) high school where he was a two-year starter at left tackle. He earned all-district and honorable mention All-New Orleans metro as a senior.
