
Ryan Flores Collects Four Hits, Drives in Five During TCL Flying Chanclas VictoryÃâÃÂ

SAN ANTONIO - Ryan Flores carried the load for the TCL Flying Chanclas in their regular season home finale. The Missions slugger went 4-for-5 with five runs driven in in a 7-2 Saturday night victory over Victoria.
The Flying Chanclas de San Antonio took an early lead in the bottom of the first inning. Cole Posey reached base on a throwing error to lead-off the inning. He came around to score on an RBI single from Flores.
The Victoria Generals bounced back and tied the game in the top half of the second inning. Bryce Holmes reached on a lead-off single. He came around to score after a base hit and a ground out.
The Flying Chanclas offense did the majority of their damage in the bottom of the second inning. They plated four runs on four hits. Ian Bailey got the inning started with a double. Warren Laster scored him on an RBI single to center field. After Cole Modgling reached on a single, Rody Barker reached on an error. Flores drove in all three runners with a double to the left field wall. San Antonio took a 5-1 lead.
The Generals gained one run back in the top of the third inning. Joshua Rodriguez reached base on an error to start the inning. He later scored on a sacrifice fly. They still trailed 5-2.
Dylan Bright was the starting pitcher for the Flying Chanclas. He lasted 4.2 innings while allowing two runs on three hits. He walked two batters and struck out six.
San Antonio added an insurance run in the bottom of the fifth inning. Flores led off the inning with a double. He later scored on a sacrifice fly from Bailey.
Jarek Wells recorded the win for San Antonio. After relieving Bright, the right-hander pitched 2.1 scoreless innings while striking out five batters and allowing zero hits.
Flores drove in his fifth run of the game in the bottom of the eighth inning. Cole Modgling led off the inning with a base hit and later scored following Flores' hit.
JT Moeller and Connor Schmidt both pitched scoreless innings in the eighth and ninth innings. They retired all six batters they faced.
The San Antonio Flying Chanclas improve to 28-7 on the season. They will wrap-up their regular season on Sunday, August 1st on the road against Victoria.
The Flying Chanclas will be the #1 seed for the postseason. Their first game of the semifinal round will be Tuesday, August 3rd on the road against the to-be-determined #4 seed.
