Rush Head to Philadelphia as Hottest Team in NLL

February 4, 2014 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Edmonton Rush News Release

The Edmonton Rush put their six-game undefeated start to the 2014 NLL season on the line Saturday night with a rare visit to Philadelphia to battle the Wings.

This will be just the fifth all-time meeting between the two teams and just the second in Philadelphia since the Rush joined the NLL in 2006, and the clubs have split the previous four games with two wins apiece.

The Rush are the hottest club in the NLL after improving their franchise-best start to a season last week with a dramatic 8-7 OT victory over the Rochester Knighthawks last Saturday night at Rexall Place in Edmonton. Mark Matthews, the reigning NLL Rookie of the Year, scored the game-winner just 1:16 into overtime which gave the Rush their third home-floor victory of the season. Edmonton leads the NLL's West Division by three games over Calgary, while Philadelphia moved into third in the East, two games behind Buffalo, with a 15-9 win over Vancouver last Saturday.
