
Ruff Riders Introduce Thomas McAdams as New GM

The Abilene Ruff Riders are proud and excited to announce Thomas McAdams, of McAdams and Associates as our new General Manager. He will officially assume his duties on Monday February 6th.
Thomas is married to Laurie McAdams. They have 7 children and 2 grandchildren. Thomas graduated from Angelo State University and his family has been in Abilene since 1981. Thomas has been back in Abilene for the last 12 years and is the son of a high school football coach. He is the founder of Baseball His Way, a sports ministry that takes baseball equipment and the game of baseball to other countries. He is very active in youth select baseball and is the coach of the West Texas Missions. He is the Owner of McAdams and Associates marketing firm. Thomas was formerly the Sales Manager for KXVA Fox Abilene for 3 years. Thomas had this to say, "I am excited about the opportunity to be a part of the Ruff Riders." "I believe that my experience, familiarity with Abilene and my understanding of what Abilene businesses want in advertising sponsorships can make the Ruff Riders a premier Franchise in the LSFL." "The Owners have been very open and honest in discussing the weaknesses from prior years that need to be addressed and the strengths to build upon." "I am ready to get to work and bring a great product to Abilene in 2012, I have been impressed with Joe Brannen and he will take care of the team winning games on the field and bringing in the right character type of guys for Abilene." The Ruff Riders have made several strategic moves this year in an effort to improve the game on and off the field. That began with bringing three new minority owners with a lot of professional sports experience on board to help mold the infrastructure and the business operations. The input from those new owners is going to be seen at games this year in excitement and wow factor. The game will feature more on field entertainment, new fan interaction events and more giveaways at every game. This year every game will have giveaways to those that attend, themes such as Military Night, College Night and thanks to Star Dodge, Jersey night will be back for the 4th year. In addition to improving the in-game experience the Ruff Rider Owners, with the help of the new minority owners, are bring new promotions to our sponsors that are geared towards driving business back to the sponsors. The Owners commented "2012 is going to be a great year in re-establishing the Ruff Riders as a hot ticket in Abilene." "We want our fans to leave the game talking about how much fun they had at the game the next day." "We believe what we have planned will do just that"
One of the new big events this year is the "Bounty Bowl" hosted by the Ruff Riders and VIP Sports Getaways in Snyder, Texas on April 13-14. This will not only be a great game, but will go beyond a game and be a great event for the Big Country. The weekend will begin Friday with the teams making appearances in Snyder and holding open practices followed by a banquet style dinner with the teams in attendance. The festivities will continue on Saturday with a tailgate party beginning at 5pm hosted by VIP Sports Getaways. Live entertainment will be on hand with entertainer Jaron Bell. Gates will open at 6pm to game and the game will start at 7pm. Specialty Jerseys will be worn for the game and will available for auction or pre-sale throughout the weekend. Bill Bates and Everson Walls will be available for autographs and pictures during the tailgate party. Immediately following the Game a post-game concert will held with Zach Edwards headlining the weekend. This will be a great event and fun for all!
