Abilene Ruff Riders News Release

KATY, TX - The Katy Ruff Riders announced today that Head Coach Donald Hollas will emcee the 10th annual American Cancer Society Relay For Life event at VFW Park in Katy, Friday evening March 30 at 7:00 pm. Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society's signature event, offering everyone in the community an opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer.

"I am very honored to be a part of this extremely important community fundraiser," said Hollas, who quarterbacked in the NFL for nine years, and who will lead the Ruff Riders into action April 14. "It is very important to me and our team, to become more involved in touching the lives of the residents who come to see our football team play each week, and we're very proud to associate ourselves with such a tremendous cause as the Relay For Life."

Also attending the Relay For Life will be the Lady Ruff Riders Dance Team, to cheer on the event's participants. Cancer survivors will walk the first lap to start the relay, while participants then take turns walking the track throughout the night. This year's theme is Friday Night Lights, Celebrating Super Relay X. Anyone who has ever been diagnosed with cancer and is alive today is a survivor, and is encouraged to participate in the Survivors' Lap at no cost. All registered cancer survivors will receive a free T-shirt.

Fortunately, it's not too late to register and Relay online if you haven't already. Log on to www.acsevents.org/katy and begin sending emails out to all of your friends and family inviting them to join you in your personal fight against cancer.
