Round Rock Express News Release
ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Round Rock Express will host the Iowa Cubs in a four-game set Monday, April 8 through Thursday, April 11 at Dell Diamond. All four games of the series are scheduled for a 7:05 p.m. first pitch.
The series will feature the debut of the Express' 1959 Austin Senators jerseys that will be worn Tuesday night (April 9) as a part of "Turn Back Tuesdays" at Dell Diamond. The Express will don throwback uniforms similar to those worn by the 1959 championship Senators squad for "Turn Back Tuesday" presented by Cedar Park Dentistry. The uniform tops are antique white in color, with red piping and a red script "Senators" across the chest, outlined in black. The back features block numbers in the same red and black color scheme. The players will wear their pants knee length with red stirrups, sticking to the true throwback feel. George Shell, business manager for the 1959 team, will be on hand to throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
On Thursday, Express outfielder Engel Beltre will be presented with his 2012 MiLB Rawlings Gold Glove® award prior to the start of the series finale. Minor League Baseball President Pat O'Connor, Rangers Senior Director of Player Development Tim Purpura and Express CEO Reid Ryan and General Manager George King will all be on-hand to present Beltre with the esteemed award. The pre-game ceremony is expected to start at 6:54 p.m.
Express games are broadcast on The Horn 104.9 FM ESPN Austin and steamed live online at www.espnaustin.com. The game on Monday, April 8 will be broadcast on 1260 AM and will not be streamed online.
