Rogues Duo Named Players of the Week

Portland, Oregon - Two Medford Rogues players stood out over the past week and are named Madison Bat Company Players of the Week, as announced by Great West League Commissioner Ken Wilson.

Outfielder Tommy Ahlstrom had a stellar week for the Rogues, with 3 home runs and 11 RBIs and is the Player of the Week, while teammate Chase Spinning fanned 11 hitters in 9 innings out of the Medford bullpen to earn Pitcher of the Week honors.

Ahlstrom, a Simpson University junior out of Eugene, Oregon, went 12-29 (.414) with 9 extra base hits. On June 26 at Lincoln, he went 6-for-6 with 2 HRs, 4 doubles and 5 RBIs. The 6-3, 195 pound outfielder is hitting .368, 6th best in the GWL. Ahlstrom hit .302 this spring, with 6 HRs and 34 RBIs in 50 games.

Spinning, a 6-2, 185 pound southpaw from Loomis, California, came out of the pen twice to earn wins over the Chico Heat and Lincoln Potters. He worked 9 innings, allowing only 2 runs on 4 hits and did not walk anyone. Spinning went 3-0 with a 1.42 ERA this past spring for Saddleback College and is headed to the University of New Mexico for his junior season.
