Rockstars sign first player to contract

Chicago, Il - The Chicago Rockstars have officially signed their first player today. Louis Smith, a 6-6 forward out of Loyola University in Chicago will represent the Rockstars this year. "Louis is a defensive demon, he will do a great job for us," says Head Coach Kenny Williams. " He has all of the qualities you look for in a good player, athletic ability, basketball IQ, mental toughness,and tenacity," says Director of Basketball operations and Asst. Coach Michael Harris.

Louis is a defensive specialist with skills similar to former Chicago Bulls Hall of famer Scottie Pippen. Smith led Loyola University in 2004 with 39 blocks and 41 steals. He reached a career high scoring 22 points vs the University of Missouri Kansas City on 12/02/03.

Smith was a standout High School player at West Aurora High School in Illinois. He led the Blackhawks to the 2000 IHSA state championship averaging 12.7 ppg, 4.1 rpg and 2.9 apg as a senior while shooting .488 from the field. Smith was an all-conference and league MVP selection. He earned all-state and all-area honors and was named the Beacon News MVP of the league.
