Chicago Rockstars News Release

Chicago, IL. On Saturday, May 22nd, the ABA Chicago Rockstars held auditions for the 2006-2007 Lady Rockstars dance team. Out of a pool of many talented dancers, the selection process narrowed the numbers down to eight dancers. The young ladies selected for the team come from various parts of the city and suburbs.

"I was really impressed with the level of talent at this audition. We chose some amazing dancers - this season will be truly exciting," said Dinna Yap, co-director of the Lady Rockstars. The directors of the team are currently in the process of choosing a platform to promote for the inaugural season of the Chicago Rockstars. In addition to performing at all Chicago Rockstars home basketball games, the team will be making appearances at local schools and events around town promoting the platform.

"We want to be known for more than just exciting routines and beautiful girls," said Toya McGill, co-director. "We want to get into the community and promote something positive to the children in Chicago."

The Lady Rockstars, a division of Rockstar Entertainment, are under the direction and leadership of Dinna Yap and Toya McGill. Dinna, a 3-year member of the Chicago Luvabulls and former director of Dance 2xs Chicago, hails from Buffalo Grove, IL. She brings to the Rockstars organization extensive knowledge of the workings of a professional dance team.

Toya McGill, also a former Luvabull and dancer for the NBA Memphis Grizzlies, is from Country Club Hills, IL. Toya is also the head coach of the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) Dancing Flames. Toya brings her expertise of running a successful dance program to the organization. The Chicago Rockstars and Rockstar Entertainment welcomes the addition of these young ladies to create the hottest, most talented and professional dance team in Chicago.
