Rochester Lancers Bounce Back with Home Win over Chicago

Rochester Lancers News Release
(Rochester, NY) - The Rochester Lancers (2-2) bounced back from Saturday's loss to Baltimore with a 16-8 win over the visiting Chicago Soul FC (1-4). The Lancers were led offensively by Brayton Knapp and Doug Miller who had five points apiece with Mauricio Salles adding three assists.
The Chicago Soul got the lone goal in the first quarter when Aaron Nichols set up Alex Megson for the easy tap in goal.
The Lancers would take a lead in the second quarter that they would never give up. Goals by Stephen Basso, Gary Boughton, and Knapp would give the Lancers a four point lead. Ephraim Beard would score for Chicago to make the score 6-4 Lancers at the half.
The Lancers would storm out of the locker room for the second half with Miller scoring a 2-point goal and Jeremy Ortiz scoring a 3-point goal in the first two minutes of the half. Beard's second of the game would make the score 11-6 Lancers heading into the final quarter.
Knapp (3-point goal) and Miller (2-point goal) would put the Lancers up by ten points before former Lancer Will Kletzien scored for Chicago to make the final score 16-8 for the home side.
The Lancers will return to action at home on Saturday, December 1st at the Blue Cross Arena. The club will host the Missouri Comets beginning at 7:00 p.m. All matches can be heard live on the Lancers flagship station Fickle 93.3 FM with veteran broadcaster Joe Giuliano once again calling all of the action.
