The Dallas Desparados of the Arena Football League announced yesterday that former Amarillo Dusters WR/DB John Roberson III signed a free-agent contract for the 2007 season. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Roberson III led the Dusters in receiving in 2006 with 41 catches for 592 yards (14.4 per catch) and 9 touchdowns. He added 8.5 tackles and 1 pass break-up defensively in 13 games. The former Texas A&M Aggie was a rookie with the Dusters in 2006.

"We are glad that John has an opportunity at the next level," said Dusters Head Coach Steve Perdue. "He's a hard worker and a good athlete. He has a lot of upside and I think he'll make his presence felt once he gets to camp."
