Rewind: Taking a Look Back at Saturday Night's Action in the USHL

Lincoln 3, Des Moines 2

Ryan Spinale's fourth goal of the season broke a 2-2 tie and gave Lincoln a 3-2 win in Des Moines Saturday.

The host Buccaneers took an early lead when Liam Watkins scored at the 0:23 mark of the opening frame. The goal gives Watkins a goal in each of the last three games.

A pair of goals, one from Justin Mexico at 1:50 and another from Keaton Peters at 6:02, made it Lincoln 2, Des Moines 1 after two periods of play.

Adam Zlnka's eighth goal of the year, scored on the power play at 15:30 of the third tied it, but Spinale tallied on the power play at 18:23 to put the Stars up for the final time.

Lucas Massie stopped 25 of 27 shots for Lincoln, while Ethan Dahlmeir had 27 saves for the Bucs.

Tri-City 6, Omaha 3

Tri-City outshot Omaha 46-17 enroute to picking up a 6-3 home win Saturday.

Will Elger scored midway through the first period as the Lancers took a 1-0 lead, but Jake Rozzi and Vladislav Lukashevich responded for the Storm and after 20 minutes of action, Tri-City held a one-goal lead.

Lukashevich's second goal of the game and another from AJ Lacroix made it a 4-1 Storm advantage after two periods of play.

Rozzi, with his second of the game and Artemi Nizameyev added third-period markers, while Nick Pierre scored twice for Omaha.

Tri-City, which has now won three of its last four games, received a 14-save effort from Cameron Korpi, who upped his record to 19-8-1-4 with the victory.

Sioux City 6, Sioux Falls 1

In a game played in front of a record crowd of 11,025 fans, Sioux City skated away with a 6-1 road win at Sioux Falls as the Stampede hosted their annual "Wiener Dog Night" game.

The visiting Musketeers got a pair of goals from Brian Nicholas and another from Tate Prichard before the game was 10 minutes old to put the Stampede on their heels. Beckett Hendrickson got Sioux Falls on the board with two minutes left in the period, but at the end of the first, Sioux City held a 3-1 lead.

The Musketeers extended their lead when Landen Gunderson, Cole Tuminaro and Giacomo Martino lit the lamp in the middle stanza and with neither team able to generate any offense in the third, the game ended with Sioux City claiming the 6-1 win.

Dylan Silverstein, who stopped 32 of the 33 shots he faced, got the win for the Musketeers.

Regarding the 17th Annual Sioux Nation Pet Clinic Wiener Dog Races, a record-setting total of 47 wiener dogs took the ice. Coming out on top, Indie, Letty, Lambo and Cooper all made it into the Wiener Takes All Championship round during the second intermission. Winning the back-to-back Wiener Dog Race Champion title was Letty, who also took home the trophy last season.

Muskegon 5, Youngstown 3

Muskegon scored first and never trailed in picking up a 5-3 home win over Youngstown. The win is the fourth in a row for the Lumberjacks, who have gone 7-3-0-0 in their last 10 outings.

David Klee tallied at the 13:35 mark for the game's first goal. Grant Young responded for the Phantoms two and half minutes later, but when Sacha Boisvert scored with five minutes remaining in the period, Muskegon headed into the locker room owning a one-goal lead.

Daniel Jencko tied it at 8:03 of the second, but when Matvei Gridin scored his 20th goal of the season at 10:52, the Lumberjacks went ahead once again.

Ryan Botterill brought Youngstown even at 1:44 of the third with his 16th of the year, but Muskegon pulled away with goals from Klee and Boisvert to close out the win. Boisvert has scored eight goals in the last six games.

Shikhabutdin Gadzhiev turned aside 39 of 42 shots in backstopping the Lumberjacks to the victory.

Green Bay 4, Madison 1

Julian Lutz scored twice as Green Bay claimed a 4-1 win at Madison Saturday.

Green Bay scored the first three goals of the game in upping their record to 23-10-4-2 for the season.

Lutz started things off, scoring at 5:36 to give the Gamblers the first goal of the game. Ben Poitras made it 2-0 at 11:13 and after the opening period, Green Bay held a 2-0 advantage.

Mykhailo Danylov made it 3-0 at 0:53 of the second before Austin Burnevik responded for the Capitols at 13:48. The goal is the 26th of the season for Burnevik and establishes a Madison single-season record.

Lutz closed out the win when he scored into an empty net at 18:57 of the third.

Adam Gajan stopped 26 of 27 shots in picking up his 17th win of the season for Green Bay.

Dubuque 6, Waterloo 1

Dubuque won for the fourth time in the last six games in claiming a 6-1 home win over Waterloo Saturday.

Erik Pahlsson scored the lone goal in the opening period as the Fighting Saints scored the game's first goal for the 26th time this year.

Joona Vaisanen gave Dubuque a 2-0 lead at 1:25 of the second before Will Felicio pulled the Black Hawks within one at 13:19. Michael Barron and Chase LaPinta scored before the end of the period and after two periods of play, the Fighting Saints led 4-1.

Noah Powell and Barron scored third-period markers as Dubuque closed out the 6-1 win.

Kevin Reidler, who now stands 17-5-2-2 for the year, had 16 saves for the Fighting Saints.

Cedar Rapids 5, Chicago 2

Cedar Rapids scored first and never trailed in gaining a 5-2 victory over Chicago Saturday.

The win gives RoughRiders head coach Mark Carlson 781 career wins and puts him just two away from tying the USHL all-time career coaching win record of 783 held by PK O'Handley (North Iowa Huskies from 1991-98 and Waterloo Black Hawks from 2002-21).

Landan Resendes gave Cedar Rapids a 1-0 lead when he scored before the game was two minutes old. A Charlie Major shorthanded tally at 7:58 brought the visiting Steel even, but Hans-Martin Ulvebne's power-play marker at 12:57 had the RoughRiders entering the locker room at the end for the first owning a 2-1 lead.

Benjamin Muthersbaugh, for Cedar Rapids, and Major for Chicago, found the back of the net in the second stanza, and goals from Ulvebne and Kason Muscutt in the third period pushed the Cedar Rapids lead to 5-2 and that's how the game ended.
